ANAHEIM, CA, 21 July 2024 Glico USA participated for the second year in Children’s Hospital of Orange County Foundation’s CHOC Walk in support of its mission to improve healthcare for children in Southern California. The event was a remarkable success, with over 6,500 participants and 2.3 million dollars raised to support healthcare programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals.
This year, Kara Nguyen and her team led the walk as the 2024 CHOC Walk Ambassador. Kara’s inspiring story began when she was born in 2011 with respiratory distress syndrome and early-onset neonatal sepsis, which made breathing difficult and put her at risk of developing pneumonia. She spent her first week receiving treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at CHOC. Today, at 13 years old, Kara is happy, healthy, and proud to be a part of the CHOC Walk team called Super Kara and Friends, continuing to give back to the organization.
Since 2022, Glico USA has proudly partnered with CHOC to bring happiness and positivity to children and families in need. “We are honored to return to this meaningful event as a CHOC corporate partner and to witness the community coming together to benefit the future of many children and their families.” Shared Monica Lee, brand specialist and project lead for Glico USA CHOC Walk. “We are also excited to participate in the Minnie Walk at CHOC Hospital on August 21 to interact with children and families who were unable to join the CHOC Walk.”
Glico USA aims to continue to give back to the community through organizations aligned with its corporate values.
